Information
Listen to six courageous people share their 10-minute raw and personal stories, at the Stories that Stir™ SHOWCASE event, curated especially for Sydney Fringe Festival.
Stories that Stir™ was created to break down barriers, stir conversation and inspire positive change.
We've selected some of the most impactful stories for this year's Sydney Fringe Festival.
The stories include:
SO GAY - How a Madonna concert was the catalyst to a Roxy, a happily married woman with two kids, discovering she's gay.
ANOTHER CHANCE - By the age of 20, Bri was a domestic violence survivor. Thanks to an unlikely sign from the universe, half a regurgitated cheeseburger, she managed to escape and give herself a second chance at life.
PAYING THE PRICE - Simon's rock bottom included lengthy time in jail, after being found guilty of embezzling over $16M. Simon decided to own the mistakes of his past, to redeem his future.
SETBACKS TO JETPACKS - With a dash of grit and a pinch of alchemy, this true story is 25 years in the making. Dissolving the divide between poetry and magic, Adam bares all on a quest to transform our tragedies to triumphs.
SUPER WOMAN - 82 year old Diana played a significant role in campaigning for women to receive the same amount of super as their male counterparts. Her latest role is starring in the ABC program, 'Old People's Home for 4-year-olds.'
WALK THE PRANK - In 1982 John was as 17 year old scrawny, red haired geek, invisible to girls and a beacon to the bullies. Frustrated, he devised a dangerous prank so outrageous, that it would gain him notoriety to this day.
Audience members rave about how listening to other peoples' funny, moving, and inspiring stories makes them feel more connected to humanity.
We can't wait to experience the magic with you.
