My expectations of how enjoyable the dog lover’s show were duly met.
It was informative, well organised full of friendly dog lovers and an eclectic mix of dogs, which I got to learn more about. With so much research these days into how dogs can enhance our lives, walking around the two halls was effortless as there was so much to take in with stops for cuddles from a very sweet Samoyed along the way.
The array of healthy and exciting food stalls and the different animal products was vast. There was a cameo appearance from the very charming Bondi Vet, Dr Chris Brown who shared some anecdotes of his time as a new vet as well as giving some very useful advice on what to do and not to do when it comes to caring for your canine.
I had been looking to find out more about the King Charles Cavalier and meeting breeders to discuss their temperament confirmed my decision to go ahead with this particular breed.
This is what the dog lover’s show was about, not only was there food to buy and products to learn about but getting to know the different breeds and if they would be a good fit for your lifestyle and family was enlightening.
I got to meet Whippets, and SharPei’s, an Irish Wolfhound, Irish terriers, German Shepherds, Labradors, greyhounds, Chihuahua,an Italian Lagotto Romagnolo, pugs, French Bulldogs, (a popular breed these days), very pretty York shire Terriers that looked like dolls. There was a long jump competition for dogs in a pool with a very enthusiastic M.C, dog tricks and information about military dogs, rescue dogs, vet advice, doggy face painting and much, much more.
Not only were the dogs all having a ball but everyone seemed happy and willing to help.
I’ll be back again next year with bells on.
