What better way to experience the beauty of a Sydney winter than ice skating in the heart of the CBD under the romance of the city lights and during a crisp winter’s day. Move over Rockefeller Centre in New York and Hyde Park in London, Sydney has its very own magical ice skating experience.
Held at Cathedral Square against the majestic backdrop of St Mary’s Cathedral, the open air ice-skating rink glistens and twinkles as snow falls … and that’s not all, you can also free fall down an epic ice slide.
Open to all everyone between the ages of 3 and 93, it’s great for first timers who have never experienced ice and snow, to old-timers who want to re-live their icy adventures.
Whether it’s a romantic skate around the ice at night under the snow, or a place to take your children for some fun and adventure, it’s also great for businesses booking mid-year social clubs and events. Wheelchair access on the rink is also available.
Chill out afterwards with warm mulled wine or a hot chocolate, and feast on fabulous food from glow donuts to Taiwanese noodles and burgers, while watching the spectacle unfold.
From: June 23 to July 16 the rink is open all day. Tickets are available at the gate but on-line ticket prices are the most affordable.
Prices: range from $18 for an adult; $12 for a child aged 8-13 years and $6 for a child aged 3-7. Family passes are also available providing extra discount as well as packages including hot chocolate or gluhwein. Group discounts for parties and clubs are available on request for groups of over 10.
