Sydney Aquarium presents one of the largest and most spectacular aquariums in the world and one of the leading attractions in Sydney. It's at the top of everyone's things to do in Sydney list, situated right in the heart of the city at Darling Harbour.
It boasts the world’s largest collection of all-Australian aquatic life featuring a number of habitats, 60 tanks and three oceanariums set in the heart of Sydney on Darling Harbour. Sydney Aquarium showcases over 12,000 aquatic animals from 650 species, in spectacular habitat displays.
Go on a journey to the Southern Rivers, home of the shy platypus and one of the world's largest freshwater fish, the Murray cod. Take a trip to the vast Southern Oceans and see the fascinating little penguins, seahorses, sharks and stingrays. Get up close to sharks in our glass-bottomed boat. Visit Mermaid Lagoon, featuring two of only six dugongs on display anywhere in the world. Then finish with a mesmerising journey alongside the colourful species that live on and around the Great Barrier Reef in the Northern Oceans.
Sydney Aquarium is open daily from 9am to 8pm (tickets sold after 7pm are valid till 12pm the next day).
