Malabar Magic Ocean Swim

2025 will be our 17th year of the Malabar Magic, and each year it gets better and better. The event offers three swims: a 1 km course perfect for beginners, a 2.5 km course for more experienced swimmers, or a more challenging 5 km swim in the calm water of Malabar Beach.

At Rainbow Club, we know that disability doesn't mean inability. We believe that every child has a right to learn how to swim; Rainbow Club provides personalised swimming lessons for children with disabilities.

Murray Rose was a deeply committed patron of Rainbow Club Australia; he was passionate about allowing special needs children to explore their abilities through sporting and recreational activities. In his memory, Rainbow Club Australia renamed our annual ocean swim the Murray Rose Malabar Magic Ocean Swim after his death in 2012. His dedication, drive and his ability to be a friend to all, continues today as the Magic goes from strength to strength and is known as the most inclusive swims on the calendar.
