Death of a People Pleaser is a dark comedy about grim reapers and people pleasers finding their power and taking control of their lives...or afterlives in some cases.

Mary is your typical people pleaser, always putting the wants and needs of others before her own. Her worst fears become her reality when she dies unexpectedly and is tasked to escort the recently deceased to the afterlife as a grim reaper, but not before delivering them the worst news ever - they're about to die.

With the help of some unexpected friends, Mary learns some well overdue lessons surrounding self-worth and defying expectations, discovering that sometimes life-changing opportunities can come in strange disguises.

Could the end of her old life lead to a new beginning for Mary and the death of her people pleasing?

Independent production company, Atomic Darlings presents Death of a People Pleaser, an original dark comedy bringing a whole new meaning to 'killer customer service'.

Writer, director and co-producer Kelly Nicholson was short-listed for the Australian Writers' Guild 2024 John Hinde Award with science fiction horror film, Connected also starring Death of a People Pleaser's Isabelle Rienits. Co-produced by actor and festival veteran Natanyah Forbes who also the joins the stellar cast.
